Abstract

The essay articulates the interpretation of selected artistic works with philosophical concepts in order to speculate what would be a utopia of pornographic imaginary. Jo Broughton’s photographic series Empty Porn Sets provides the starting point for a reflection on Susan Sontag’s (1987) notion of “pornographic imagination” and Michel Foucault’s (2013) concepts of the “utopian body” and “heterotopia.” The text concludes with Steven Marcus’ (2011) concept of pornotopia, which is brought into dialogue with the theater of Raúl Damonte Botana, known as Copi (2004).
Keywords: Pornography; Utopia; Imaginary; Raúl Damonte Botano (Copi).
