In this essay, I discuss some changes and challenges in Latin American criticism facing the sociopolitical debates and mutations of literature in the last decades. By recovering notions and modern problems in literary criticism, I propose to seek in the dimensions of language, of reading as act and experience, and of literature as such, some possible paths to conduct criticism as a way to imagine futures for its practices in accordance with our times.
Keywords: Criticism; Contemporaneity; Experiment; Reading as Act; Latin America.
