Abstract

The article analyzes Nietzsche's view on Christianity's origins, emphasizing his critique of the transformation of Yahweh from a warrior deity into a moral and peaceful God. For Nietzsche, this shift signifies the decline of vital values, fostering a weak, resentful morality. Jesus is seen not as a hero, but as a “free spirit” whose message was distorted, creating a religion that represses instincts and reinforces nihilism. According to Nietzsche, Christianity does not break from Judaism but continues it, solidifying the triumph of herd morality and the negation of life’s affirming forces in Western culture.
