Esta é uma tradução inédita do artigo A revolução cartesiana e o conceito spinozano de substância, publicado em 1904 por Léon Brunschvicg (1869-1944). O artigo propõem uma chave de leitura acerca da influência cartesiana na gênese do conceito de substância de Spinoza. Ele argumenta, contra a visão daqueles que concebem que o conceito de substância spinozano é um mero resgate da escolástica, que o conceito de Spinoza, na verdade, é um desenvolvimento radical do método de Descartes.
