THE JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF THE ARMY (BRAZILIAN) IN PERSPECTIVE
A PANORAMIC VIEW (1932 - 2021)
Abstract
The article portrays an investigation whose objective was to examine (in a panoramic way) the Brazilian Army Physical Education Magazine, scrutinizing its conceptual, pedagogical and (in)formative aspects. Concern a scientific initiative justified by virtue of corresponding to the oldest periodical of Physical Education, in the national territory, representing, in turn, one of the most eminent channels of communication in which the subarea of knowledge (in question) was based, and it still holds up to some extent. In methodological terms, a mixed perspective was adopted, to know, the quantitative dimension responsible for collating numbers, editions and trends related to the magazine, and the qualitative aimed at highlighting the thematic (epistemological) categories, according to documental analysis, from the publications. In general terms, the results indicate that the magazine raises issues related to the country's historical and political context, in addition to displaying the pedagogical reality of the army involving Physical Education, which reflect trends and inaugurate perspectives for the formative field in which it operates.
