Abstract

This article sets out to present the main elements based on the theoretical and
methodological proposed at the "Radical-local teaching and learning" intervention
process by Mariane Hedegaard and Seth Chaiklin (2005) which is based on
historical-cultural experience in a school in USA. The concept is translated to
portuguese language as "radical-local teaching and learning historical-cultural
process". The authors emphasize the importance of intervention projects inside
the schools to be developed between teachers and students in a dialogical and
critical way. The goal of the article is to discuss the importance of the theme and
its construction inside the schools in a radical-local perspective and the
discussion is specially important to Brazil nowadays because the schools in
general and the Brazilian public schools in particular, need to be radically
transformed based on dialectic historic materialism and historical-culturall theory.
