Ethanol extract of south Indian herbal Aloe Vera treated with copper II chloride monohydrate for enhanced antimicrobial activity

The aim is to study the effectiveness of Ethanol extract of south Indian herbal Aloe Vera treated with copper II chloride monohydrate enhance the antimicrobial activity. The UV spectrum peak at 270 nm and 882nm conforms the presence of flavonoids and inorganic compound copper respectively. The interaction of the ethanol extract of Aloe Vera with cupric chloride was confirmed by the spectral data of FTIR. Through the GCMS spectrum, the presence of Aloe Vera secondary metabolites and Hexadecanoic acid methyl ester (46.75%) (Palmitic acid methyl ester) and other major component of this plant extract is confirmed. The pharmacological application of antimicrobial activity conforms that the Enterococcus fecalis bacteria is affected lot and the Bacillus subtilis bacteria is least affected in the pure cupric chloride. Similarly the pure cupric chloride affect the Candida albicans and Trichophytonrubrum fungus most effective and is least effective in Cryptococcus sp. And comparatively copper ion treated with ethanol extract of Aloe Vera, which give the maximum effective against Bacillus subtilis while smaller effect is observed in Vibrio cholarea, likewise in fungus also it show the higher activity against Candida albicans and smaller activity againstTrichophytonrubrum. This is very first report with elaborate characterization and conformation and hence we prove that this compound have enhanced its antimicrobial properties.
