Résumé

Sob a máscara de uma despretensiosa prosa helénica ficcional, de autoria não identificada, o libelo reflete, com traço satírico lucianesco, aspetos de vários domínios socioculturais bizantinos do século XII, a exemplo de serviços, medicina, tribunais, filosofia, retórica, religião, valores, todavia sem intentar assumir-se como uma profissão de fé, tampouco emular-se a um folhetim de transgressão pagã. À partida, uma sequência simples de três momentos: um homem morre; comprova-se ter sido erradicado por engano e restitui-se à vida. Apresenta-se, pela primeira vez em língua portuguesa, a tradução integral a propósito do percurso de Timárion, desde Constantinopla, Bizâncio e ao Hades até a ressurreição.
