Résumé

O tema da “identidade” na Nemeia 10 de Píndaro parece não ter sido tratado com suficiente atenção pelos estudiosos, que apontam, sobretudo, os tópicos da amizade, lealdade e comunicação entre deuses e homens como os tópicos essenciais desta Ode. Este trabalho sublinha a importância do tema da “identidade” na Nemeia 10 de Píndaro. Nesta Ode, Píndaro enfatiza que a tradição e os traços inatos que constituem a identidade de uma pessoa ou cidade são resultado não só de herança, mas também das escolhas pessoais feitas em relação aos outros homens e aos deuses. Ela destaca também a intervenção dos deuses na definição da identidade de uma pessoa ou cidade e na concessão de glória e imortalidade.
