About the Journal

Codex – The Journal of Classical Studies is a double-blind
peer-reviewed biannual journal (ISSN 2176-1779), sponsored by the
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), by PROAERA (A Group of Studies in Representation of Classical Antiquity) and by PIPGLA (An Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies Program in Applied Linguistics). Since 2009, the journal publishes scientific papers in the field of Classical Studies. Its mission is to offer a comprehensive survey of
the ongoing research in the area of Classics to facilitate access  of the target audience of students, academics and researchers to the evolving work carried out by those who contribute to the growth of this field in this country and abroad. The journal accepts submissions all year round, free of charge. Codex encourages authors to submit original, unpublished articles in the areas of Ancient Philosophy,
Philology, Ancient History, Archeology and related fields.
Works by undergraduate or graduate students are welcome, as long as they are co-authored with a senior advisor with a Ph.D., supervising the scientific work of the candidate who wishes to be published in this journal.
